Top turret - Martin A-3 electric-driven type.

Formation - 6 B-24s of the 458th Bomb Group escorted by 4 P-51s

Formation - 93rd Bomb Group, 2nd Air Division. 25 December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. Note the Bombing Through Overcast (BTO) radome on the lead aircraft (in place of the ball turret)

Direct hit by flak - B-24 of the 464th Bomb Group destroyed 9 April 1945

Blown in half - B-24 of the 448th Bomb Group during a raid on Kiel.

In flight with battle damage - Lower aircraft is B-24H-25-FO S/N 42-95031 of the 392nd Bomb Group. Note: almost the entire left side of the empennage has been blown off.

B-24D going down during 1 August 1943 raid on oil refineries at Ploesti, Rumania. The wingtip was broken off after a crewman from another damaged B-24 hit it.

Breaking up in flight - B-24 of the 465th Bomb Group over Blechhammer, Germany destroyed by flak after a direct hit.
