Completed High School and enlisted in the service at Fort Des Moines, Iowa on August 9, 1940.  Completed Airplane Mechanic's School at Chanute Field, Illinois in April 1941.  Assigned to 95th Bomb Squadron, 17th Bomb Group at McChord Field, Washington.  Was killed at Sui-chang, Chekiang Province, China on bail-out from plane after Tokyo Raid.  Interred at Wan Tsuen, China.  Decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart and Chinese Breast Order of Yung Hui awarded posthumously.
