Graduated from High School and entered service on September 19, 1939 at Fort MacArthur, California.  Stationed at March and McChord Fields with 95th Bomb Squadron.  Remained in China-Burma-India Theater after Tokyo Raid until July 15, 1943.  Graduated as bombardier.  Held various Stateside assignments at bases in South Carolina, Louisiana, and California.  Served briefly in Japan after the war and was discharged December 17, 1948.  Decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal, and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade.
