Attended high school for two years and enlisted July 13, 1931 at Fort Bliss, Texas.  Received training as airplane mechanic and after assignments to units at Kelly Field, Texas, Chanute Field, Illinois and Lowry Field, Colorado was assigned to 37th Bomb Squadron in May, 1941.  Remained in China-Burma-India Theater after Tokyo Raid until June, 1942 after which he returned to the States to become crew chief for General Doolittle.  Served in England and North Africa from September, 1942 until January, 1943.  Killed by enemy aircraft on January 5, 1943 at Youks-Les-Bains, Algeria.  Decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart (posthumous), and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade.
