Appointed Second Lieutenant Infantry Reserve, May 10, 1940.  Enlisted as Flying Cadet on February 10, 1941 and graduated from Advanced Flying School, Stockton, California, with rating as pilot in September, 1941.  Assigned to 17th Bomb Group at Pendleton Field, Oregon.  Remained in China-Burma-India Theater after Tokyo Raid until June, 1943.  Assigned to Stateside bases in California, Utah, and New Jersey during the rest of the war.  Served in Japan and Korea as Air Liaison Officer with 7th U.S. Infantry Division during Korean War.  Returned to the United States in September, 1953 and stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.  Killed in bail out of T-33 aircraft accident near Las Vegas, Nevada on March 24, 1958.  Decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross, Soldier's Medal, and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade.
