Hello Kitty,

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our fellow 456th FIS alumni member Stan Harvill.

My prayers and very sincere regrets and sympathy as well as those of my fellow 456th FIS Alumni Committee members ( who I am copying), go out to Stan's entire family, you and all of his many friends.  I know that he will be sorely missed by all.

I will post your email on our web site in its entirety to inform all of our members.  Stan will also be included in our memorial service as part of our next 456th FIS Alumni reunion next spring in Coloradosprings Colorado . Our group gets smaller and smaller with each passing day.

Thank you and sincerely

Subject: 456th FIS Death Notice about Stan Harvill

Hello

My name is Kitty Millard . I was trying to see if there was an obituary for Stan Harvill on the internet.  I had put his name on Google and this page came up.  I don't know if your group knows this or not, but Stan Harvill  collapsed  around August 15, apparently from a heart attack.  The emergency crew came, resuscitated him and he was in intensive care in a Hermosa Beach, CA, hospital.

One of the emails indicated that he was at the Little Company of Mary hospital in Torrance, Ca. His wife indicated that she did not know how long he was oxygen deprived before being discovered but he had  damage to his brain and was treated by two neurologists. His eyes are open but he  could not communicate.

Stan Harvill passed away peacefully today (Aug 25, 2009) at 3:20 PM, surrounded by his family. Services will be held at the American Martyr's Church in Manhattan Beach, California at a time yet to be decided, with burial at the Riverside NAtional Cemetery in Riverside, Ca. He is survived by his wife, Anna, and their children, Jay and Jennifer.

He was a classmate of my husband from the Class of 1955 at West Point. He will be missed.

Kitty Millard
